Fun while napping

At times our car situation works out that I have both girls in their car seats in the back of my Mini. They both love it, and call the car the "Daddy Cooper" It is always exciting to ride in the Daddy Cooper.

The car is fairly low to the ground and is built to be pretty tight on corners. Even when I take a wide turn well below the speed limit, there is a little bit of centrifugal force exerted on the passengers. This has come to be called "Wheeee!!!"

There is a chorus in the back of my car as we drive that goes like this.

"Wheee Daddy! More Wheee!!! Daddy!! We want Wheeeeeee!!!!"

And so it goes. I frequently forget about 'Wheee' and how much I laugh at the chorus when it gets going. But they always remind me.

Today we were at a birthday party for our friend Lucas Root who turned three. Melanie drove the girls up, and I drove them back home as Melanie needed to head off to another commitment shortly after. Of course on the way home the chant began. So I obliged with a few "Wheee!" grade turns on the way to the highway.

Somewhere between the highway exit (Wheee!!) and approaching home Claire whispered "Ella is alseep". Sure enough she was.

There's one turn on the way into our neighborhood that gives a little Whee! force at any speed but starting from a dead stop. As I slowly went around it, watching Ella in the rear-view mirror to see that I was keeping her asleep. As I rounded the corner, her head began to flop to the left. Her eyes opened, she turned to look out the window, said "Wheeeeeee" in a sleepy diminishing voice, plopped her head back where it started and was fast asleep as we pulled out of the turn.

She's still sleeping in my car now. I'm about go to wake up the little sleepyhead.
