Well it has been a while since I posted a Claire blog. With the holidays it has been crazy. Claire will be 15 months old in 2 weeks. I can't believe it. She has changed so much.

Her walking has improved. She walks slowly around the house but still defaults to crawling when she needs to get somewhere quick. She has progressed slowly in this area because she is focused on her speech.

Claire's speech is really coming a long now. I think she has about 20-25 words in her vocabulary now. She is amazing me. She likes to repeat everything you say. Well she tries. I only count the words she actually uses in context. See list of words at bottom of this blog. Also her sign language also is very helpful. We now have another 5 or so that we are working on with her.

Her Gross Motor skills are also improving. She is starting to climb things now.

Her Fine Motor slowly improves. She is now able to put pieces of her toys where they go. She has a magnet toy set on the frig. Each animal is broken into 2 pieces. You need to put the 2 together on the toy to make the animal. She now is able to put the pieces in correctly. She also doing kind of OK with feeding herself with a spoon. She gets it in her mouth but still needs to work on the scooping action. Also doing well with a regular cup and even figured out how to use a straw. (

She is also starting to make connections with things. For example, she has learned the word hat over the past few weeks. She could always point out a hat if she saw it. The other morning I had a butterfly toy on top of her Pooh Bear stuff animal in her crib. I guess she took it off. She was saying "hat", "hat" but I could not figure it out. Then she took the butterfly and put it back on Pooh's head and said "Hat". I was like OHH! That was sooo cool.

She has also become sooo tender. She kisses and hugs everything. She is such a lover girl. I love it.

On a sad note I breastfed Claire for the last time this past Sunday. It was hard for me but it was time to move forward. I had gone down to just the morning about 2 months ago then just stopped this past weekend.
